I was at the gunshow with my son yesterday (his first--he's 11),
WHERE I GOT TO MEET THE LEGENDARY TAMARA!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeay!!!!! :p

...anyway, joyous outburst aside...
Knowing that I have a couple of young shooters and an anti relative or two to convert, I've been looking for a 9-shot 22 revo like a Taurus 94...

I passed on an H&R 9-shot .22LR revolver with a 6" barrel and a removable cylinder...might have been a "49'er"...I'm kicking myself.
The gun was probably an 80-85%. He was asking a Benjamin. Offered him $80. Coulda had it for $90.00 and I passed.

Someone please either do the killshot and put me out of my misery or tell me something to assuage my overwhelming feelings of stupidity.:uhoh:

Anyone...? Anyone...?

Those are often pretty good :D.

Did you do the checkout?

Uh-huh. It was pretty solid, but I was right in the middle of an ammo hunt when I came across it, and my limited cranial capacity wouldn't allow for simultaneous processing.

Just remember that .22 cal ammo is very rare and absurdly expensive and that would take all the fun out of shooting the pistol... repeat this as necesssary while realizing that the exact opposite is true. Sorry:rolleyes:

I try to tell myself it just wasn't meant to be when I miss a deal. Sometimes it works, sometimes I run across something better, sometimes I just kick myself!
Keep looking, I'm sure the right one will come along ;)

By the way, I taught my son how to shoot using the Taurus 94. He & I had a blast. Good choice for the job!

I know I'm gonna offend somebody, but I've never met an H&R that I really liked.

No great loss on the missed deal.

I just bought the Taurus 94 for my Dads birthday last month.

Its a great little gun but the double action pull is atrocious.

The tolerances are a little tight but I think thats a good thing.

As far as the H&R I've always wanted a top break but...
They stopped makiing these guns 15 years ago and I'm not sure
about parts from numrich (there were changes mage during the production run).

For something to shoot with your 11 year old the Taurus may be a better choice with its lifetime warranty.

Of course I have over 65k rounds through my ruger MKII bought in 85. My dad taught me with it and I'm teaching my son.

I think everyone has had a "one that got away" story. I have to say that there is probably something that kept you from buying it right away. I have shot a couple of these and I was not impressed. I think you will get through this. Go get yourself a Ruger Single Six for twice the price and be twice as happy.:D

If it was a "49er" it was a Hi-Standard and you should have got it.Ive always liked the H&R's but have never bought one.

A High Standard .22 revolver - never met one of those I liked either (but I've only shot a few.)

That's 2. Will 3 make it a hat trick?
