I just got around to looking at the scores for the February match, .22 plinkers. results (http://members.lsol.net/beebe/thrpm/feb.htm)

Am I reading this right??? We have two folks who, using a box stock 10/22 including crappy trigger and horrible factory iron sights are able to hit a pop can at 50 yards more than 3 out of 4 times from a unsupporded offhand position?

I'm truely impressed. That's a heck of an accomplishment. You even beat out the improved and the scoped class shooters.

The "crappy trigger" gets better the more you shoot it, and some of them aren't really that crappy to begin with. The other thing you ned to do is find the ammo it likes. Mine absolutely loves Eley match, off the bench at that distance I can keep it to about a 3/4" group.

That's what it's all about. Shoot till your better at it. Until any of us can shoot a one hole group there is room for improvement. "I love the smell of gunpowder in the morning"
