i know this is kinda ot, I tried to find the most likely spot, and it was a debate between hunting and non-firearm.

but Stalin is a huge part of my HD, and this morning before I left to teach I realized that he couldn't get up properly on his hind legs. after he finally staggered to his feet he was limping and his left hind leg was retracted.

what's happening?? i'm so worried and just last night we went running with no problems.

this is horrible!

yeah, no real forum for that... maybe armed polite society?

anyway, we've got a dog in a similar condition. if she sits or lays down for too long, she has trouble getting up and limps around. once she's up and about, however, she's fine for hours.

take the dog to the vet, and get some glucosamine/condroitin - it can't hurt, and might help.

Poor dog, hope you get him to the vet. How old is he?

Besides, isn't he a non-firearm weapon? :)

if this is a one time deal your dog may have just pulled a muscle or something.

if this ends up being a reoccuring event it may be arthritis. some dogs are prone to this. i had a dog for about 10 years...we had to get him put down after while because he was in so much pain..even after pain shots at vet.
in many cases you can see a shrinkage in their hip girdle..the back legs start moving closer together and have less of a range of motion. it started off slow, stiff in the mornings...then he couldnt run as fast, started having trouble with stairs, finally was in constant pain. very sad situation

if this is the first time its happened and there is no history of it....i would say its a pulled muscle or some other injury that will heal up just fine.
