I think my WTB ads are being deleated!

I assume it is because I didn't list my state in my want ad but I thought it was more for people that were selling an item. Why deleat my post for this reason when I am looking to buy? When rules are too strickly enfored, it is just as bad as if there are no rules.
I never had a problem with the old way the site was run. List your state if you want but if not, what is the big deal? On a want ad invloving a non-FFL item, maybe you should not deleat people's posts without warning. BTW, I never got a warning or anything, I just noticed that my theads were gone. That is not cool.

Besides, I have my state right under my name so it is easy to see.

While I'm certainly not a MOD, they seem to have been trying very hard and spending a lot of time over the past 6 weeks trying to enforce the RULE that you have your state title in your post. It really isn't that much to ask.
While I personally couldn't care less whether someone lists their state, the people who run the board set the rules and wasted tons of their own time enforcing them for people who couldn't take the time to read and/or follow the simple rules.
They then began stating that future posts would be deleted without warning. It seems they are just doing what they said they would do.

I thought that a WTB accesories ad would not be a problem. I was just looking a shotgun stock and my posts get deleated. I guess that is the way they are going to play the game now. Still, it makes me think a little less of the mods here now.

I don't browse the For Sale forums too much (discretionary funds for shooting low at the moment :D ). Looking at it tonight though came up with this:
10. If one of your threads disappears, please re-read these rules before posting again. Your disappeared thread was probably in violation of one or more rules. The onus is on you to follow the rules properly.
Looking through the accessory forum, out of the 50 threads on the first page 6 of them didn't have a state listed (4 of those 6 were posted within the past 4 hours). I'm not sure what my point is :D but it does seem like they are trying to keep things fairly consistent.
My guess is that they are just quickly scanning the topic titles, & not seeing a state anywhere in the title delete it without really reading it. It might seem somewhat silly but (speaking as a mod elsewhere) the Mod's time is limited as to what they can do while online. If you make a post that falls into the "get rid of immediately" category it will be deleted (more than likely without even seeing who started the thread in the first place).
I agree that in a WTB thread a state isn't always needed but it isn't that big of a deal to put it in the title in the first place (if for no other reason than to respect the Mod's time/brainpower).

Greg L's got it.
I frankly don't see what the fuss is. Putting your state in the title takes no time at all on your end and is hardly a great burden. Also,
1) Our all-volunteer staff has only so many hours in the day, as Greg said, and a hard-and-fast rule is very simple to enforce. You know if you're breaking it or not, without any need to ponder minutae or wonder what category your item falls into, and we know at a glance whether we need to fix something.
2) The forum pages look uniform, with a state in every single title, a nice additional benefit for those members who will not read the sticky and have to figure out the rules without benefit of actually reading any.
3) Finally, since the rule applies to every single thread in the Buy, Sell, Trade forums, while we might get accused of being heavy-handed jerks (that goes with the territory!) at least we can't be accused of being unfair or playing favorites. The rule applies across the board.

Sure, you did. There's a sticky at the top of each page in the For Sale Forums, telling exactly what the procedure is. Not only did you get a warning...you got one that's right there all the time.
Oh, yeah, do a keystroke count of your posts on this page. Then see how many posts you could have added 'in IN' to with that many keystrokes. You've spent enough effort complaining to add your state to a hundred or more WTB posts.
