The edges of the gas holes on my new 11-87P are "sharp" to the touch on the inside of the gas cylinder. After cleaning and during reassembly of the barrel, as the gas cylinder slides over the magazine tube the sharp edges on the gas holes nick up the barrel seal ("O" ring). Anyone else ever experienced this problem?

O.K. --- I guess not. I guess it's kinda nice to be unique. Thanks: -- Buck

My buddy had an 11-87 Turkey model that did that---he was changing O-rings all the time----he dumped it for something better----so I'm not sure on the fix.

That sounds like a warrantee issue, Buck.

Thanks for the reply Rugerfreak and yes, Clemson it is a warranty issue. The local smith who handles Remington warranty work wanted to hold the gun for 6 weeks before he could fix it. All that was needed was the gas holes to be ever so slightly polished. I went to another smith and he did it in about one minute while I waited.

He asked for a couple of bucks, and I gave him $20. It works fine now. I was tempted to do it my self but opted for the expert.
