Hello Everyone,

Moderator: I wanted to put this someplace that would get a wide audience. Plus these gunsmith do not specialize and seem to do many things well. So I chose the "general" section as it seemed most appropriate.

Does anyone have any experience with Williamson Precision Gunsmithing in Hurst, Texas?

I have heard good things about them locally, but only used them for the first time last week. Wow! It is a father-son outfit and the father has been smithing for over 40 or 50 years! The few guns in their case were very nice, but they tend to be a jack of many trades shop rather than specializing in one particular type of firearm. He's also an approved warranty station for Weatherby and Remington products. The father mentioned he gets guns in from all over the country all the time. So I thought someone might have had some experience with them.

If you did, what kind of work did you have done?

How was the workmanship and customer service?

He simply installed a Speedfeed stock set on an old Winchester Defender shotgun that has seen many a mile with me and I have a strong emotional attachment to it even though I make enough moolah to buy Benellis and Remingtons now. :)

The work was beautifully done though.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Chris,

No, it is the shop on Pipeline just south of the Brown Trail intersection.

Not sure what shop you are referring to.

Anthony,

Try to locate Stephen Camp here or on other boards (e.g., fnhipower.com, 1911forums, etc.). I think he has commented positively on Williamson's before. Good luck.

Sincerely,

Michael

Hello. Whenever I have any "major surgery" done on rifle or pistol, Lou or Scott do the work. They are slow, but my guns have been returned precisely as specified and I have no complaints whatsoever.

Best.
