I have a S&W Performance Center 681 revolver. I need to find a gunsmith to install an adjustable rear sight assembly on it. I posted this on the S&W Forum with no replies. Anyone know? Thanks

The fastest, best, most cost effective source would be S&W's Performance Center themselves.

What do you need adjustables for.
Putting adjustables on a 681PC is sacrilege to those on S&W forums...
If it is not shooting to POA then call S&W and ask them what to do, it is a performance Center gun.....

Smith and Wesson informed me that they don't offer this service. In response to why I want adj. sights on the gun, is because I want them. Why does someone want a custom set of grips on a gun, or a scope, or any other items? Why does someone have a gun engraved for a $1000+? I expected this kind of smug answer or no answer at all (which I got) from the S&W Forum, from their so-called experts, but not from this forum. I am a twenty-one year veteran of law enforcement and actually shoot the guns I own and use them hard, that's what they are for in my opinion. If someone wants to put a gun up and not shoot it, that's their choice. Thanks for nothing.

Well, to provide a straight answer, Jim Stroh at Alpha Precision will install adjustable sights. It isn't cheap and you will likely have to have a new front sight put on to get the right height for the rear to zero.

I bet Scott Mulkerin at SDM could do it if he would do it. It isn't on the site, though. Call 'em up.

CAUTION: I have not done business with either shop, just recalled them as doing a lot of revolver work.
