Kimber Heritage Questions

Are all Kimber Heritage models "Series O" guns? Or are they Series I or II, depending? If there is a heritage model in each series, how do you identify the series? A local shop has an unfired heritage model for $800. I've only seen the left side, and the billboard reads "Kimber Heritage" and nothing else.

Actually, there is no Kimber Series 0 or 1, although both terms get used a lot. Original Kimbers were, well just Kimbers. I believe the Heritage model was one of these. Series II indicates the addition of a FPS and all series II Kimbers use the deignation "II" after their model name. Some early series II pistols still used an internal extractor before Kimber switched to an external. If the gun does not have the stamping "II" on it (might also check the box label if they have it handy), it should be the "old" version with no fps. Good luck.

This was a Series I (pre series II). That is exactly what I paid for mine.

Dobe, do you shoot yours or is it a safe-queen?

It is a safe queen, simply because I have migrated back into revolvers. I have six Kimbers. All but one is a Series I. For the money, it is tough to beat them. The Heritage really doesn't have much of a collector's value, but for $800, you do get a lot of nice extras.
