I'm trying to find out who made this gun. There are know markings on the gun. The grips say F&W. Does anyone know who made this gun? It lookes like an old H&R break open, but I don't think it is. Just wondering if anyone knows...Thanks

there were literally dozens of companies making top-break guns in that era.
I am somewhat suprised that there are no markings on top of the barrel, thats where I found the makres names on the two revolvers like that I own.
F&W may mean
Forehand and wadsworth

Looks like a Forehand and Wadsworth to me. Check the left hand side of the barrel for more markings.

It looks like a Forehand and Wadsworth to me also, but there are no markings on it. It's a very nice gun and it doesn't look like it has been fired and if it had then very little. Thanks for all of your help

F&W made a number of different models, that being one of the less common. F&W revolvers were of quite good quality and decent, reliable guns.
I have no idea why it is not marked; it is hard to tell from the picture if it has been refinished. If in nice original condition, it should go for $200-300 to a collector of F&W guns or revolvers of that era.
