A lot of folks seem to have switched to e-mail authentication systems that require a sender to go through extra steps in order to allow e-mail to get through. The authentication confirmation generally looks something like this:I apologize for this automatic reply to your email.
To control spam, I now allow incoming messages only from senders I have approved beforehand.
If you would like to be added to my list of approved senders, please fill out the short request form (see link below). Once I approve you, I will receive your original message in my inbox. You do not need to resend your message. I apologize for this one-time inconvenience.

I'm sure this is reducing the amount of spam. Unfortunately, it's also impacting THR e-mails.
This server sends out the following sorts of e-mail regularly: confirmation e-mails to make sure a mail account is valid before registering a user
Notifications that PMs have been received
E-mails from users if you have this function turned on in your account. These all are listed as coming from webmaster@thehighroad.org. When these get sent to an account with these spam blocking methods in effect, the e-mail above gets sent to three of us here at THR.
While I understand your fight against spam, and symphathize with your efforts to minimize it, I feel I need to make it clear that I do not take time out of my day to jump over the e-mail hurdles you've erected. I understand that many see this as a "one-time inconvenience," but I can assure you, as someone keeping a board with nearly 20,000 members running, that it's a royal PITA on this end.
If you want to receive e-mail from THR (because, say, you're registering for the forum), then you'll need to make sure the e-mail can get through.
