Just bought a NIB Lady Smith 357 / 38 for my sweetheart and (since this is my first Smith & Wesson) thought I'd inquire with you folks as to what you thought of this particular model?
Sssssshhhhhhhhhh! Don't say anything as I haven't given it to her, yet! ;)

Seriously, the M60 Lady Smith has a glass beaded stainless finish, Combat Dymondwood rose grips, and a smooth target trigger / semi-target hammer. Barrel length is 2 1/8" and weight is 21.5-oz's.

CDNN has a sale on this 5-shot revolver that retails for $621 (according to S&W) and I felt fortunate to buy 1 of the 7 they have for only $399.
Steve
P.S. Also purchased a NIB compact 45 auto (EAA Witness) for only $259.

I'm sure she'll love it. I have the model 60 2" stainless steel which I opted for as it's slightly heavier and I feel takes the strong loads better. I do have the model 36LS but I don't expect to shoot anything out of that other than wadcutters.

It's an outstanding weapon, my wife carries the exact same model.
The Ahrens grips are beautiful aren't they?
My wife carries .38 Spec +P Nyclads, she just can't hang onto the
thing shooting Magnum loads.....

my wife carries one and occasionally I do too.
They're great guns.
My daughter won't give up her 1911.

Got this one for my wife's birthday in 2004:

She loves it.
That was one of the first groups she shot with it, at 20 feet. We're kinda partial to blue steel and wood.

My most frequently carried gun is almost identical to that one. It's less elegant than the Colt Detective Special, but packs a more respectable wallop, and has proved considerably more accurate than expected.

My mother was fairly anti-gun for years. That is until about 7 years ago when a friend of hers convinced her that she should attend a safety class for a concealed carry permit. My mother never looked back, and she wound up with a Model 60LS under the tree at Christmas.
They're very good guns.
Though rated for .357 Magnum, I really wouldn't use anything other than .38SPL or .38SPL +P in them. Recoil can be fierce, especially with the stock wood grips. I managed to cut a gouge in my thumb on the cylinder release when I tried it.
Overall, it's a very good choice. The only thing that I might recommend is the replacement of the grips with rubber, depending on how recoil sensitive your sweetheart is.

Let me tell you something.
I REALLY wish they didn't call those things "Lady Smiths" because I would buy one for myself in a heartbeat.
They look awesome, they shoot great, and the quality is just superb all around.
The only gripe I have with them (and this, I know, is irrelevant because it's not designed for a guy) is my hands don't fit well on the frame. When my girl buddy lets me shoot hers, with even mild .357 loads, it tries to get out of my hands with all it's 2.5 inch barrel might.
It shoots incredibly well with .38's though.

My wife's Lady Smith was stolen when our house got broken into a few years ago. She's tried a couple of others, but has now decided she wants to go back to the Lady Smith for carry, so we're shoppping for another.
I hope your sweetie loves hers!
