Story is still breaking but local news is reporting a CCW permit holder put down a man who was attacking his ex-wife with a knife at the deli counter of my local Walmart.

This is the first publicized account of a CCW shooting I have heard in NM since we got our law passed.

Also interesting because Walmart is off limits for carry under current DPS interpretation of the law because they sell alcohol (but do not serve it).

Anyway, it sounds like a woman is alive tonight because somebody decided to carry in a place he wasn't allowed.

I will try to find a link to post. But it might not be up yet. Only one of the 3 local stations is reporting it as a good shoot. The others were still calling it a murder.

OK, I am a dumbass. It isn't really a self-defense shooting.

But "defense-of-others shooting" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

How about "CCW shooting."

Earlier this week, customers at a Wal-Mart in a Phoenix suburb ran for their lives when a man opened fire and killed two store employees in the parking lot.

Glad to see the media managed to insert the snippet of bad guy with gun shooting into a story of good buy with a gun shooting

Thanks for posting that Nick

It sure is a shame that it happened in Wally World. The only PR we'll get will be that he was violating the terms of permit by carrying there.
Wish we were allowed to carry into Wally World or the local Stop n Rob.
That fights for next spring.

What frightens me is the thought of a Wal-Mart with a deli. :barf:
