I received this in the mail today. "You have been selected to represent your local voting district in a Republican Senate Leadership Survey.............Because it is cost prohibitive to send a survey.........your answers.......will represent the views and opinions of ALL Republicans living in your voting district."

The first question is "In general, are you pleased with the job President Bush is doing?" NO
2. Which issues are most important for President Bush and the RP to focus on this year?
Economy
Jobs
War on Terrorism
Social Security
Education
Healthcare
Abortion
Other__________________________________________
I'll check 'Not important' on everthing except 'Other', where I'll write in ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION MUST BE STOPPED
3. Additional comments
4. Do you agree with liberal Democrats who want to reverse President Bush's tax cuts? duh. no
5. How important is a balanced budget?
Very important
6. Should the Republican Party push for additional tax cuts to further stimulate the economy?
doh. yes. In 'additional comments' I'll write 'Stop spending billions of dollars and wasting American lives in Iraq. Win it and get out.'
7. Do you think we should fix the federal tax code so that is simpler and fairer? duh. yes. But you won't give up the control over the minutia of American citizens lives by way of economic coercion any more than will the Democrats, will you?

Anyway, the 'survey' goes on to ask more questions, then ask for money. Do you think my answers will make any difference? I suspect if there's no donation enclosed, the whole thing goes in the trashcan.

Do you think my answers will make any difference?

Absolutely - your answers will make a difference. Karl Rove and President Bush will personally review your input and you should expect an invitation from them to visit the White House to discuss your answers in more detail. Don't worry about the donation, what they really want is your input on issues critical to the nation.
