Went out to the range today, trying to get my scope sighted in now that I have the mount replaced.

My wife had told me to shoot the wrist watch I have since the alarm won't turn off and it is driving us nuts.

So after blowing up the wrist watch :evil: (took 2 shots, one with the SKS to take the band off, and one from the CETME straight into the face), I started to think of other things I could pop off some rounds at.

Realized that I always wanted to have a quarter with a bullet hole in it.

So I set one up at 25 yards, and got it with the first shot.

In the end, I got 3, 2 with the scoped CETME, and one with the SKS.

I will upload that later. It's not all that specatular actually. When I hit the band with the SKS, it hit just enough so that the screen turned black. When I hit with the CETME through the face, I wasn't sure I hit it, except that the face turned white.

But when I got to the target, I wasn't sure that I hit it until I looked at the back of it.

I must say, that's a nice looking CETME, what scope mount are you using? and how easy was it to fit on the CETME.

I recently bought one and am looking for a mount for my CETME too.

It's a TAPCO mount. Seems to work ok, but I think it could be designed better.

It's got a set screw that goes into the hole in the top of the reciever, so it actually is designed for the CETME rifles.

Only real trick is getting everything tightened tight enough, but not too tight.

Now that the project is complete, I am actually probably going to sell it. Rifle, scope, mount, extra parts, 40+ magazines, 2 extra forearms, and one extra stock.

Inventive idea to get rid of a problem watch! BTW, it's not a crime to deface currency unless you intend to commit fraud. Ex: alter a bill to look like a higher denomination, etc.

It is not a crime. However, once you deface it, it is no longer money, and illegal to pass as money.

1. Is it illegal to damage or deface coins?

Section 331 of Title 18 of the United States code provides criminal penalties for anyone who “fraudulently alters, defaces, mutilates impairs, diminishes, falsifies, scales, or lightens any of the coins coined at the Mints of the United States.” This statute means that you may be violating the law if you change the appearance of the coin and fraudulently represent it to be other than the altered coin that it is. As a matter of policy, the Mint does not promote coloring, plating or altering U.S. coinage: however, there are no sanctions against such activity absent fraudulent intent.

Nope....you can find a bunch of tourist places that have the machines that press pennies into whatever. I did a few at the Bass Pro Shop.
