A lot of anti-war people are saying that Bush is breaking the Geneva Convention by bombing civilians. Is there a specific section in the GC for that? I know that there is a section on civilians. What's the deal with it.

Yeah, it says we can't harm non-combatants.

The proscription is against TARGETING civilians, which we DO NOT DO. You can harm civilians if they are consequently hurt as a result of a legitimate military target that must out of necessity be hit and the damage to the civilians is not out of proportion to the target hit.

Jerks who say we are bombing civilians should themselves be bombed.

It's even legal if a civilian that an enemy soldier is using as a shield gets shot, you just have to show that you made a 'reasonable' effort to not shoot the civilian.

A lot of anti-war people are saying that Bush is breaking the Geneva Convention by bombing civilians. They're lying. No surprise there!

The last time we actually TARGETED civilians (WWII) we killed them in wholesale lots. These days it would be contraproductive Geneva Convention or not. Just my $.02 worth. ;)
