Anybody have a customized Ruger Super Redhawk? I've seen pictures of conversions that Wild West Guns of Alaska does.
Personally, a chopped, easy-packin' 5.5" Super Redhawk .454 is on my list for someday. Not a high priority, as I have no real use for it, but it'd be cool for making gallon buckets of water explode and such.
Anybody got pictures of custom Ruger .454s?

There is one floating around, called the Streethawk, I think. Basically a forerunner of the new Alaskan 'snubbie'.

My Super Redhawk in .44 mag has a 6" barrel now. That is a good length for my state, because they require a minimum of 6" barrel to hunt.
One problem with cutting back a .454 could be the barrel. They are locked down more firmly than the .44 (I believe). Contact your prespective gunsmith and get his opinion.

With four Magna-Port slots in a barrel shortened to 4.8 inches, combined with a trigger job and cosmetic work, the Magna-Port Custom Shop will give you a great bear stopper without the extreme muzzle flip of the stock Ruger SRH 480 pushing 400+ grains over 1200 fps. When I raise the bucks, that will be my next addition . . . already have the 7.5 inch SRH and love the cartridge. Recoil is no big deal, but the muzzle does rise up and to the left, and carrying that puppy around is no mean feat!
