Does anyone shoot their 44Mag long distance?

I was reading that Penn Ammo site and they referred to an Elmer Keith 600 yard shot, so I was wondering if someone had a good long range 44 Mag load..

My 'personal defense' 44 Mag load Hornady 180gr JHP loaded to max is very accurate at 25yds, but I was shooting 150 yds the other day and and they were barely in a 4' circle. Clearly not suitable for deer hunting. I'm shooting a S&W 629 stainless with 6" barrel.

You can read more about that shot by reading the original article in the 1958 Gun Digest. In later years as editor of Guns And Ammo Elmer said "I have never been called a liar more for anything I wrote, but I had witnesses!"

He used a 4" barrel model 29 (the third one ever made) that had a light 44 special barrel on it (like the 629 Mountain Guns) and his 240 grain Keith SWC as built by Lyman for him. He regularly shot this combination at ranges out to 1000 yards.
