MEC 9000G cycle speed

I recently unlimbered my 20 gauge MEC 9000G after several years of non-use. It loads shells properly but indexing to the next stage seems a bit slow. Without any shells in it, it takes 2.1 to 2.2 seconds to advance to the next position. (This is timed from releasing the manual advance button to hearing the click of the index lock plate.) With shells in process it was taking quite a bit longer, although I think that was due to some crud buildup that I've now cleaned away.

I don't rush my reloading, but I have to wait for this thing to index before inserting the next empty hull, and I don't recall having to wait when it was last used. I know I can order a new gas cylinder, but would like to know if it's really running slow or if I just misremember how it used to work.

Can anybody time one of their machines and let me know how fast theirs cycles? Thanks for any help.

Just went and cycled two of them, with a plate full of hulls both are right at one second. Sounds like the gas cylinder has leaked down a little if your press is clean and lubed.

Many thanks. One second sounds like what I thought I remembered. I'll order a new gas cylinder tomorrow.
