Greetings Folks,

I recently received an offer to work in the Cayman Islands. Has anyone been there? Does anyone have any experience with weapons laws there or information (Links or other) they can help me with. The opportunity is a good one but I would like to be as prepared as I can be, legally speaking. Any information or experiences would be greatly appreciated. I do know that it is a British commonwealth, but I am not sure if the Motherland's Draconian weapons laws apply there. :banghead:

Thanks in Advance,

Doug

Don't expect too much.

Guns are listed as prohibited, but the RCIP is probably the best source and their site is down. Customs says that you must have a permit.

I would not expect to get a permit for anything but a long gun.

Importing or possession of any kind of illegal drugs including marijuana (ganja) and cocaine is strictly prohibited by law and violators will be arrested and prosecuted by local authorities. Also prohibited without a special permit are: Firearms of any kind (including BB guns); spearguns (or pole spears or Hawaiian slings); live plants and plant cuttings; raw fruits and vegetables because they may carry diseases or shelter harmful insect pests. You may contact the Collector of Customs, (345) 949-2473 if you have questions about any item, prior to your arrival.

Great wall diving! But, alas, I fear no guns. Not for the good guys anyway.
