Let's see your big bore, long ranged, accurate, and/or powerful hunting revolvers. .44s, .454s, .480s. S&Ws, Super Redhawks, Raging Bulls.
I'd like to see a Super Redhawk with optics mounted. And does anybody have one of those cool looking 629 Stealth Hunters?

SRH .454 w/Burris 2x. Very accurate and flat trajectory to 100+ yards. I took a 285 lb boar at 90yds from a rest with 300 gr XTP's.

NC - pics you may have seen before but I regard all these as hunting potential :) -

I hafta ask. How is the recoil of the big Super Redhawk .454? The most potent thing I've fired is a 6" .41 Magnum, and I thought that was a pussycat. But .454 is in another league altogether.

NC - recoil is very stout - probably it is the heaviest recoiling cannon I have. The BFR by comparison is more than assertive but has a slightly slower ''push'' feel - a consequence of a lower pressure round mainly, and weight of gun. The .454 is a rapid and more harsh recoil.
The SRH is plenty heavy too and the long tube helps I think but - the top loads for .454 are probably close to SAAMI 65,000 - whereas 45-70 in BFR even if hot, is probably sub 35,000.
I have found that maybe only one in five folks who try the .454 want another shot! It is not for everyone at all but that said - it won't kill ya, unless you are on the wrong end! :D
