I'm looking at some of this in the 250 round "battle packs", 158 grain, semi jacket soft point. Does anyone have any experiance with this ammo? If it's any good I may pick up a few packs.

I meant to get some of this but haven't managed to.
Where are you finding it?
I have used Santa Barbara 9mm. It's hotter than commercial 9mm like Winchester White Box or Olympic.

A guy I've done some trading with in the past has some. He's asking $50 per 250 round pack.

I bought a couple cases of Santa Barbera 38 Special. It's great stuff. Shoots accurately and clean. Definately packed well for long term storage.
The .223 and .308 is supposed to be good too. Very hard to find anymore.

And may continue to be.
General Dynamics (USA) recently bought Empresa Nacional Santa Barbara.
Production is apparently going to be geared towards military contracts only.
