Unfortunately, we're prolly all going to know the answer to this one shortly.
Besides putting a suit on and trying to beat the living :cuss: out of whoever's launching it at you, what are the tactics if you're attacked with chemical weapons?
Some ignorant guesses:
* Disperse the troops
* Get upwind
* Beat the living :cuss: out of whoever's launching it at you
Anyone here know for real?
Thanx,

IRAQI CHEMICAL WARFARE TACTICS POLICY AND DOCTRINE
b. (U) Procedures.
(1) Chemical planning is an integral part of all planned combat operations. During its war with Iran, Iraq successfully employed chemical munitions with two objectives in mind. First, to support offensive operations. by using preparatory fires to disrupt command and control, logistics, and counter battery fires. And second, to breakup Iranian attacks, thereby providing time to reorganize and mount a counter attack. In addition, the Iraqis mixed HE and chemical fires In an effort to disguise/mask the chemical fires and increase confusion. The Iraqis have also been known to mix nerve agent and hydrogen cyanide
(2) Warnings for Iraqi friendly chemical fires are passed in the same manner as chemical weapons release. instructing commanders to prepare their troops for an opposing force chemical attack. When there is insufficient time to execute this process, General Staff HQ bypasses all echelons and notifies frontline troops to expect an opposing forces chemical attack.

Basically, just suit up and keep moving.
The tactics of chemical weapon use are pretty basic:
1. Persistent agents like VX are used to both kill, and render an entire area impassable for long periods of time.
Even if you are suited up, you want to avoid a contaminated area if you can. Decontamination is both a pain in the neck, and risky.
2. Non-persistent agents like Sarin are often used to prepare a point of attack, since they will disperse quickly.

Like Sean said, suit up and get out of there.

I believe we've had quite an effective anti-chemical warfare weapon in our arsenal since 1945.
