The last one I had my hands on was about 6 months ago. It was returned to the gunshop because of excessive premature wear. Apparently quite a few parts had not been heat treated correctly, were made of inferior steel, or were not fitted correctly.
Considering the similarity in price. I'd suggest one of the Springfield Armory GI .45 Models.

Well the new stuff Ive played with actually rivals Springfield Arms...easily! Ive only seen two both stainless versions and they felt very well made. My last Kimber has more play in the slide frame fit. Ill be keeping my eye on them.
Shoot well.
