JPFO Membership question

I know that many members of the forum are JPFO members. Hopefully someone can answer my question. I just looked at the JPFO membership web page and it states that “all membership fees are still tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.” Are they a non-profit corporation? I’m in a habit of asking for a copy of the IRS letter from all the organizations I contribute too. Will they provide me with it? Who should I contact at the JPFO?
Thanks!

501(c)(3) per their latest newsletter I have. On their membership page they have a phone number you could call, too.

Be careful. I think JPFO is a good group and deserves support, but any percentage of their budget (and thus the corresponding percentage of your contribution) that goes toward lobbying is NOT tax-deductable. The statement “all membership fees are still tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law” means just what it says. If the full extent of the law says (for example only!) they spend 100% of their budget on lobbying, then 100% of your contribution is NOT tax deductable. But their statement is still true.
You have to ask. But don't let that dissuade you from supporting them. I do not know if they do any lobbying and I don't want to scare you away. I just wanted to clarify what that particular sentence actually says.

Hawk:
They still want proof of circumcision?
:D
Seriously, and without any negative feeling about the JPFO, you'll note that the NRA is not considered a non-profit for tax purposes. I wonder how the anti groups are treated.

JPFO does none of what the IRS considering political lobbying, so all money given to them is fully tax-deductible. Don't know about getting a letter from them about it; I never asked for one. Call their 800 number, and you can probably speak with Aaron Zelman - he can answer any of your questions.
