Did anyone watch "The flight that fought back"?

I did and it was a pretty good show. It was made from actual phone recordings and accounts from family members. Definitely watered the eyes more than once.
One thing I did catch though was the Fed officer that was allowed to carry a firearm but decided not to on that flight. The outcome would of been quite a bit different had he carried.
All in all, it was a good show worth watching. Don't know if Discovery channel will air it again or not.
Anyone else watch it?

[was not previously aware of officer who decided not to carry].
That was for one of two [likely] reasons.
1) Extra paperwork/red tape required to do so was deemed not worth the hassle
2) 'Didn't see the need to carry' on a plane [you know, ever, since no plane has ever been hijacked, once]. They were probably not well trained with the firearm (hence worry about carrying it being more of a problem), and could have worked against the good guys as well..
No point in Monday Morning QBing... the brave men and women did the best they could up there and won that one.

I watched the show.
That's how I found out about the "winning" design of the Flight 93 Memorial...by checking around on the Internet after the show.
The actual voice recordings were chilling and moving.
The sounds of the pilots having their throats cut were particularly scary.......inhuman screams repeated over and over.
Shows what kind of animals we are up against here in World War IV.

I recorded it with my DVR. I am planning on watching it tonight. From what I hear it is a a gripping testament to what people can do when they are underpressure to live. I doubt I will get through it with dry eyes.

I have often thought the folks on that plane who got together and stopped the terrorists should have been given posthumous citations. The fact is, they put themselves in harms way to do what had to be done. Maybe this is too much civilian initative for the authority's to countanance.

I thought it was pretty good, except for the technical errors in depicting the aircraft. First it's a 757, then during pushback and takeoff it's an airbus A320, then during climb it's a 737, then during cruise it's a 767, then after the hijacking it's a 757 again . . . .

If you think that's bad, watch any typical war "documentary" on The History Channel or The Discovery Channel, and see how many "stock footage" errors you can spot.
I, for one, never realized the Japanese used Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bombers and Grumman TBM Avenger torpedo bombers to attack Pearl Harbor in 1941!

If you think that's bad, watch any typical war "documentary" on The History Channel or The Discovery Channel, Anybody catch the episode of "Shootout" that air after the Flight 93 program? I never knew that Germany was so WARM in January. Green grass, leaves on the trees, no need for winter gear. ;)
"The Flight that fought back" looked pretty decent, baring the technical glitches with the aircraft (thanks for pointing those out, I don't know enough about the field to catch them myself).

Maybe this is too much civilian initative for the authority's to countanance. Why do you even have to go there? No reason to make such a statement.
