JeepDriver September 12, 2005, 07:40 PM Alright, I went out and bought a metal frame/bottom wagon, now I need to convert it to carry 4 guns (long guns, as there are two of us shooting in the same squad) as well a atleast 1 range bag and a couple ammo cans.
I'm thinking of using PVC for the muzzle end and some sort of a cloth covered piece of wood for the stock rest. I need to keep the muzzles and stocks fairly tightly locked in as well as the gun bag and ammo cans.
Anyone done something like this? Have some suggestions/pictures?
OH yea, I forgot, I waited until the last possible moment, I am shooting on Sunday, so I need to finish it by weeks end. PLEASE HELP
The wagon and 1/2 the guns:

Chris Rhines September 12, 2005, 08:34 PM Shooting the Mason-Dixon 3-Gun? I'm scheduled for Sunday myself. :D
Maybe rig up a piece of 3/4" plywood vertically on one side of the cart, mount some vinyl-covered hooks to hold the long guns?

Yep, I'm the 6'3" bald guy shooting a PTR-91K  Something tells me I should have stuck to an AR ;) But it's all for fun right?
JeepDriver September 14, 2005, 04:21 PM Alright I suck at building stuff.
I'm waiting for my drill batteries to recharge right now, this is it so far

There are 2 spots that I'm waiting to drill out inbetween the 2 guns I have sitting in there that will hold the shotguns. It's will require futher design modifications as it evolves, but I really suck at this kind of stuff.
I'll post final pics after it's completed and stained/painted
waterhouse September 15, 2005, 12:07 PM hey, that looks pretty good to me.
I can just see someone bailing out of new orleans walking down the highway with their "gun wagon" in tow.
JeepDriver September 17, 2005, 04:03 PM Here it is.
Atleast this version of it. Who knows what the next evolution will bring ;)

sigstroker September 18, 2005, 04:57 AM Your range allows you to tranport guns horizontally? The ranges I've been to all require muzzle up for uncased guns.

If we have a big, bright, bore flag, then we can carry them horizontally. Otherwise they have to be encased.

Well, when the gun goes off all by itself (copyright Brady Campaign to Prevent Liberty) Jeep will be the first one shot. :neener:
Looks cool.
R.H. Lee September 18, 2005, 08:28 AM I like the cowboy action carts. They have storage compartments and seats.

Actions open and you can carry/transport them either horizontal or vertical.
When mine are in the cart they are on a downward angle they aren't strictly horizontal
jiwilliams September 23, 2005, 03:52 PM I wish I could find a picture right now.. but in sporting clays we have modifed the 3 wheel baby jogging strollers to hold two shotguns and an ammo bag. The big wheels make traversing rough terrain easy.

achey September 23, 2005, 09:13 PM This is probably to late but used the same cart with the fold down sides. I used an old gun rack off of a three wheeler mounted to the long side on the outside of the wagon, Then added a boat seat in the back facing the oposite side. plenty of room for shooting bag and such. Oh don't forget your PVC pipe and patio umbrella. Yours looks great but nowhere to sit or anyplace out of the sun or rain. Just my cart. Good luck at the three gun

Sunray September 25, 2005, 02:46 AM Change the orientation of the ammo cans(make a platform for the cans. Plywood.) and use a golf bag cart. They're AL with a relatively solid tube to bolt things onto and stand alone with weight on them.
"...it's all for fun right?..." Exactly.
haole_boySS September 28, 2005, 10:17 AM jiwilliams, are you talking about this??

Dr.Who September 30, 2005, 11:24 PM I have seen some made out of a golf bag hand cart that transports the muzzle up. These were custom made by the owner.
