Uh oh! Bokchoi wants help trading...

Uh oh.

Yes, I've done it.

I never thought it would ever happen, but now it has.

I now own more handguns than I can handle.

There a USP 9mm Tactical out there with my name on it. Yes, they're available here in Canada, by some miracle and work of a greater power that suddenly seems to love me very much.

Alas, I have too much. To the point of redundancy.

My current inventory is as follows:

1x Sig 226 9mm
1x CZ-75B 9mm
1x HK P7M8 9mm
1x Beretta 92FS 9mm
2x S&W M28 Highway Patrolman .357
2x S&W M586 .357
1x Taurus M608 8-shot .357

Quite simply, 9 handguns is a bit much for me to handle. I'd like to lose some before I go out and buy another, but I seem to have hit that point where I am deeply attached to what I already own.

And boy, does it hurt.

I think my only feasible option right now to come up with a reasonable way to make room for the USP is to sell the Taurus first, and work my way from there. I'm almost tempted to split up my revolver pairs, but that would involve much pain and suffering.

I have also considered just simplifying my collection and avoiding any further variety-induced lapses in purchasing judgement, such as selling everything but the pairs, and doubling up on Beretta 92s and P7s, and effectively ending my collection there. But that's crazy talk, bokchoi. Crazy talk.

What would you guys do to simplify your collection? I'm not in any urgency to get the USP, but I do need to have room for it when I do.

Thoughts / Suggestions?

I know what you mean. Its an expensive hobby well...an addiction actually. If your finances can handle it buy another and keep the ones you got. But if there are ones you just don't shoot or don't enjoy anymore sell it. The used gun market keeps this addiction somewhat bearable for all of us. You're doing a good service by getting them into the hands of people who will really appreciate them:p

An easy way for me to 'prioritize' my collection is to only have a max of 4 guns in each caliber.
For instance, in order for me to buy another .357, I would need to part with one of the following:
circa 1991 6" 586 with adjustable 4 position 'click' front sight. (Beautiful bluing.) Nice long range target gun!
circa early 80's 686 2 1/2" lew horton special snubby (Tack driver!!)
1989 627 special edition of 1989 5 1/2" (Absolutely beautiful!!)
dan wesson 715 4" .357 with new 10 lug barrel. (A little wierd, but it grows on you.)
I don't know which gun I could kick to the curb, so when I see a .357, I think "Yeah, I like .357's, I already have four of 'em".
The only way I would get another is a redhawk 4"-6" barrel, and have it rechambered to .356 GNR. (Cheating)
The odds of me finding a .357 redhawk in nice shape for a reasonable price aren't that good, considering I'm not looking for one.

Can you guys have full auto in Canada? Sell some of your handguns and get a machine gun, suppressor, or trade a bunch in for a PSG-1 or something...

I know very little about handgun laws in Canada but another angle is to sell the guns that you know will still be legal to replace at a later time. If all will still be legal then I suggest to lose the ones that are least accurate and reliable in your opinion (thats how I decide what to trade or sell). If all are equal in your mind then I say lose the Taurus and the Beretta! :scrutiny:

You have a nice collection going. I'd think long & hard about selling off one of those guns! Besides a total of 10 guns is a nice round number ;) ....wait, you have 9 & number ten is more than you can handle? You have 9 hands?

I don't think I will ever be able to trade off/sell a gun...

I wanted it.
I bought it.
I want to keep it.

Only a really important/pressing requirement would get me to sell one, but before my guns, I would sell my R/C Car stuff.

I would pick the Taurus for trade.
Of course, I would just buy it and not worry about it. :D

Why? It's not like they're girlfriends....or are they....:scrutiny:

You have no 45's. Sell 3 of the .357's and get a really nice 1911-A1.

:)
