Hello there,
I am going to buy a savage 10 flp for target shooting, cal. 308. Most of my shooting will be from the ground off a bi-pod with a Nikon Monarch optic. The factory stock is too low for that optic and I need a replacement. Any options apart from McMillan? Good quality, reasonable price?
thanks,
thecyclone

By Choate - approx $175.00 direct (maybe cheaper if you shop around)-

I don't believe the 10FP-LEA2 comes in left hand config - so you wind up eating the cost of the 10 FP stock.

The 10FP-LEA2 (223 & 308) runs about $575----see what works out best for you

I've got a Choate stock. Don't really like it.

I've also got one of Sharpshooters' benchrest stocks. A little bendy, but not too bad.

I'd go McMillan or Shehane, and if you're not going to be carrying it around, get laminated wood and add some weight.

I'm not real fond the Choate on my 10FP either. The grip is like holding a baseball bat ......... at the big end.
