I got to hold a 1911 at the range Saturday just before I left. I have only handled one once before and it didn't feel as good as this one. It was a Springfield Armory 1911-A1. It had wood grips that had "US" on them and tiny sights. It was stainless steel full size. I couldn't believe how light it was and it fit my hand well. The last one I handled seemed a lot heavier and didn't fit my hand very well at all. Anyway, I may get to shoot it next week, if I am lucky. I have always been a little hesitant to buy a 1911. Maybe this one will change my mind. It sure was purty.

I had a good workout with my Kahr and Kel-Tec. These are my business guns that I carry daily. I think I got one of the good P-3ATs. I have had no failures yet with it. :)

If you shot my Springfield Loaded 1911-9mm, you might not want to shoot anything else.

Sounds like you held a Springfield Armory 1911-A1 GI .45

A great gun indeed for a great price :D

I agree with the comment, " a great gun, at a great price". Since the 2005
price increase, these guns are still under $500. Where else are you going
to find a quality 1911-A1 for that kind'a price? :D

Be very careful here. Those 1911s have a habit of multipling. I just got my second, a Para LTC this weekend! :neener:

No matter what any of the 1911 haters say....no other pistol feels as good in the hand as does the 1911A1. So says me!

I have strayed from time to time but always come back to the 1911A1.

I guess I have been keeping the cat population in check because I have never fired a 1911. :D That should change this Saturday, though. I can't stop thinking about it. That Springfield just eased into my hand last Saturday.

I have often felt like an amateur gun owner because I don't have a 1911. I wouldn't buy one just to have it but I am hearing the siren call. We will see how sweet it shoots first. I almost bought a Kimber for a carry gun but at the last minute went with the Kahr. I don't regret it...but still.

Everytime you shoot something besides a 1911 Gods kills a kitten..I heard it was firing Glocks that got the kittens killed.

What good is a 1911 praise thread that doesn't bash Glocks, somebody was gonna do it sooner or later
