Ok, so I need a holster for my Para LTC (Commander sized 1911). I have a Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 on order, but it will take 10-16 weeks before I get it. I am happy to wait for it, but I want to get an inexpensive, $50 or less, holster that I can use to carry my LTC in the mean time. I want something that I will not toss out after a couple of days because it is a piece of uncomfortable junk. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

How about calling Craig or Audrey at Lightning Sports to see if they have a VM-2 in stock? If so, you can get the holster you want now, cancel your Sparks order, and save a few bucks.
Their web site is http://www.lightningarms.com/products.htm

Gunners' Alley has Hume holsters in stock. The M-715 is a decent IWB design.

You could also look at Wild Bill's Concealment. He claims to have 1911 holsters of all types in stock. MY only gripe with him was the long wait before he instituted the "in-stock" policy. I have an extreme Heat and a Summer Heat, both good designs.

Dillon Precision has several .45 holsters that might work.

I use a Don Hume IWB for my officers model and am very pleased with the quality Vs. Price. I have used the Don Hume for a couple of months and it is holding up well to the AL summer humidity. I also have a Dillon belt holster (LTD) and am pleased with it as well.

Sportsmans Guide (www.sportsmansguide.com) has a variety of holsters to fit the 1911, most of them under $50. Most are decent ... maybe one will do the job for you until the real deal arrives.

I should have a Galco Fletch (belt holster with thumb break) for a commander and a Galco inside the waistband for a full size Govt model (works just fine with a commander size gun) floating around in my drawer of holsters at home. I'm at the precinct right now and can't remember if I still have them or not, but they should be there. Email me if you are interested and I'll send em to ya.
