Anyone Have Any Experience With The New Witness?

I have always thought the EAA Witness is about the best ergonomics on a pistol I have handled to date. I don't have one yet because the lack of support for aftermarket magazines and holsters turns me off a bit, but after I saw their new Compact Polymer, I think I have no choice:

Now it is also about the coolest (IMHO) pistol I have seen.

Has anyone seen, handled, or shot these? I was just wondering if anyone had any comments on them before I take the plunge.

Also, does anybody have any idea what IWB holster might work with that? Never seen a handgun with similar geometry to that one...

Its down to either this or a few more weeks of penny pinching and a Glock 19.

Thanks in advance.

Be warned that EAA is probably the rudest, most worthless, piece of crap gun company out there.

Fortunately they don't seem to make anything, just import. The polymer Witness might be a fine firearm. Unfortunately you'll have to deal with EAA.

I have not seen any of the new Tanfoglio polymer yet. EAA's history is checkered at best though forum member Grayrider(I think) states he has had contact at EAA and they may be turning over a new leaf in the Customer Service Department. Time will tell but I agree these appear to look like potential winners for EAA should it continue to be competitively priced. Mike

I bought a Witness polymer compact then traded it. The new mags that came with it were both defective, and I called all over the US, including EAA, trying to find mags and nobody had any.
The Mecgar mags would not work with it either.
So as it was basically unusable for me, I got rid of it.

The polymers with rail are still in the process of coming in as I understand it, so you may have a little time to mull this over. I am not sure Tanfoglio has settled on the final slide design. The larger P-Carry model is more appealing to me as I don't really like compact guns. If I get more information on availability I will pass it along. Having not owned a polymer model Witness I really cannot comment on their quality. It is possible I will end up with one of the 10mm P-Carry rail models, but I am not certain at this point I will have the funds when they hit the United States. If you want a gun you may want to call Marc Galli at EAA (extension 210) and see what he can do for you. All you need is an FFL in your area to do the transfer for you.

I don't see how EAA could be that much different if they still employ the same people. Yes, there's some new management, but the other people you would have to deal with are the same (Does Paul still work there?).

Yes he does. Time will tell I suppose.
