Hello you can call me Jane,

I didn't see a specific forum to post this in so I thought this was just as good a place than any. I am a wife and mother of 2 beautiful girls, one 13 months the other 8. I am going to be 27 on Nov, 6th. I love gun shows and guns among many other things. I shoot rifiles as well as pistols. I have my ccw and I do carry. I am neither democrat or republican, IMHO, they both are just as evil.
I work, take care of the house, kids and Husband. I work in the medical field. I am an autotransfusionist. (meaning I work in the OR with blood) I am a member of a few other "GUN" bbs. I had an intrest in reloading but that has been put on hold for a bit. I am christain. I belive we are in a world of trouble and TSIHF as we speak. I try to educate women on firearms and make them less afraid.
I feel they fear what they do not know. It enragges me to hear moms say they are afraid of ther kids getting the gun and shooting themselfs. or the whole so ans so commited sucide with a gun so I don't like them, it could have just as well been a rope. I can rant about that all day.

So now I have told you a bit about me I hope that you guys/gals will wecome me into the group. I lurk alot but I do post from time to time. I have been a member of one bbs for 4 years but onlt have 400 something post. I hope that I will learn some things as well as contribute to the group.

Good to see you here.

There's a ton of good information to be mined just by searching. That alone can keep you busy for quite a while, but we'd like to hear from you as well.

Good for you!

Both criminals and leftist extremists count on women to be ignorant of firearms and self-defense.

Allow me to add my welcome. Here on The High Road, you will discover enlightening and sometimes very spirited debate, with a depth of knowledge you simply cannot find anywhere else. Hello, Jane!

...I'm a female also, and love to shoot. I try to get women involved with firearms also, but run into the same attitude & get just as frustrated.

I don't work in medical, but getting there via school. I have a degree in engineering, but work in telecomm, managing a hotel's telecomm/security center.

Found this board by sheer accident, it's the only one I belong to. Nice folks here.

A bushmaster AR15 is my current love, tho I have a SAR1 too, plus a few select items. Would love to try a beretta.

See ya!

I don't care if you are a female, martian, black, green, yellow or white.

We are all gun folks, gun nuts if you will and that is all that matters. One of the reasons I am a gun nut is because there is usually no racisim, no sexism, no ism's of any type. Welcome to the fold.

Great, I see your midwest, if your close enough maybe we can get together. It's hard to find females that understand the need and joy of shooting.

I am so sorry to disagree with you most of the time I get a bunch of bs from guys because they think just because I am female and like guns I am incompetent or doing so because my Dh is into them. I have had a passion for the bang bang since I was a little girl. My mom was an ffl and my dad well he was what one would call a "GUN NUT" it was great. They never were locked up, they were always loaded and I could hold them and shoot them when ever I had the itch. I got a chance to shoot everthing my daddy owned, and belive me he had a good selection of just about everything.

So sexism, I would beg to differ, if the range is full I can't go alone, well I can but risk getting hit on or unwanted assistance. Live in a gun lovein females shoes for 1 day and you will see what it's like.

I've definitely seen this firsthand. I once took a few very attractive young ladies to a public range. I'll never ever do that again. The attention that they got was to the point that everyone, myself included, felt threatened enough to leave. Not only were people giving unwanted advice, nearly all of the guys were staring at us and either snickering or pointing. It was partially their fault because they didn't exactly dress for the range...

From now on I'll take them to a private range at a time when there will be nobody there.

when my daughter "blossomed" taking her to the range got interesting.
What stopped all the guys was when she got herself some gun tee-shirts.
For some reason those shirts intimated guys. It was her idea not mine. Maybe girls really are smarter than boys.

Normally when I go to the range I am in full dress BDU's. It just feels right. ;)
I have a few gun shirts, like from knob creek and stuff, but outdoor ranges I have my BDU's. In door ranges it a bit different. dressing a certain way at the range can call attention from the line but I wear pants mostly anyways as I carry on my hip. Although for thoses special times I wanna get a thigh holster, they will never see it commin.

Hi!
Welcome aboard. Hope you keep coming to this corner of the Internet. Always good to have a few knowledgeable females in here. (Heaven knows I'm NOT one of them) :what:
I too am a mother. (8 month old beautiful daughter) :D
I'm older than you though. I will be 35 on Oct 3rd.
I haven't had to experience any negative stuff at the range. (Mostly just guys staring at me.) But I have never went by myself either. My husband always goes too. I have had guys let me shoot their guns. And yes, they were just being nice! I was sad though. They had nicer guns than I did. I still shot better with my old guns than they did with their nice new ones though! :p Well, as far as the new person buying the ammo, I need some .44 mag. and some 9mm. I have plenty for the rest of my other guns. :p

congrats...I just love babies. I bet she is beautiful...
We are trying for 1 more, been trying for about 5 months now. They grow fast.
I am so happy to see other ladies around. :)

I use to go to some ocala shoot when i lived in Fla, I went with DH (dear husband) and I got to shoot so many cool things. Alot of guys we hung out with down there had so really sweet belt fed and full auto toys.

I got to shoot a full auto mac-10, that was kinda neat. I rarely have problems when I go with Dh. I love to go to the range but it is kinda hard with a baby, so we have to go seperatly right now, we have no family here, it's only us. I won't leave my girls with anyone...they only leave us when they go to school. Too many sick ppl out there. So when she gets a bit older she will be going with us. :)

That would be so cool to shoot full auto! I have never got the chance to do that.
The only time we go to the range is when my husband's mom watches Audrey for us. There are only a few family members I trust to watch her. So we don't go to the range as much as I would like.

Educating others is one of the greatest functions we can perform. Knowledge can clear away the misty hype that the anti crowd waifs up.
