What are some brand names of quality nightvision I should know? Just brand names are fine unless someone has direct experience. I am looking for something good but under $1,000.00 and don't mind doing the research but need some brands to start with. I am looking at a monocular in particular unless someone wants to steer me away from that.

Thanks ahead of time for the input.

For my money the best of the best "night vision" optics are created by ITT: http://www.ittnv.com/
But since they sell to the highest bidder (THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT) most folks can't afford them! See their two rifle scopes here:

ITT is the recognized leader in nightvision optics; they suply our troops!

ATN is another "night vision" supplier:
http://www.atncorp.com/
Their prices are somewhat cheaper, as is their quality.

Rigel Optics makes some "night vision" equipment:
http://www.rigeloptics.com/
to include googles, optics, monoculars, and scopes.
If you just need an inexpensive monocular, I recommend:
Rigel 1400 Marine Night Vision Monocular: $169.00
