Overall Length: 21 inchs, Barrel 11 1/2 inchs.
AMD Matched bolt carrier/bolt/barrel trunnion that was so clean that it looked almost unfired. On a Gen. 1 Ewbanks receiver that was 100% heat treated and is very stout. It's all riveted solid. The rear trunnion is CNC'd tool steel custom made for pistol builds. It has a Russian telescoping recoil spring rod, not the standard AMD wire frame. The Saiga foregrip is very solid and has an integral screw that goes through the receiver and into a nut seated in it. The TDI grip is very comfortable, just like the 1st Samco G27 for AR's. The trigger is an OEM double hook and has a nice release. The finish is Rustoleum 7220 textured appliance paint.

Not for Sale :D

Nice! Always wanted one like that - the forearm make it easier to handle than a regular Krink setup? If you're selling it, I can't buy it, but will give a free bump. If your just showing off, color me green, dude! :D

Don't have a clue what I would do with it but the cool factor is 100%. If I had the cash I WOULD have one. :D :D

Yours is purtier than mine, you did a nice job! I like the Saiga foregrip.

So if you build a pistol and then down the road drop the $200 to register it as an SBR, is it an easy thing to add the stock?

Or are pistol receivers designed to not be easily converted to a rifle?

I like both grips on that one. Where did you get the pistol grip?

I want an AK pistol but it seems a little more complex than an AR-15 build. I have done several AR builds including a pistol but the AK seems a better fit for a pistol because of the rear stock not having the buffer tube.

Albanian - The grip is a TDI/First Samco/Fobus grip I believe. I love the looks of them but they didn't fit me well. YMMV

Zundfolge - As far as the recievers, pistol and rifle recievers are the same. HOWEVER, many have said it's a good idea to have your dealer put "Pistol Reciever" on the 4473 just to have all your bases covered. If you bend your own it's a little easier. The alphabet boys that friends and I have talked to have said to do a pistol build legally it has to be a new reciever (never had a stock on it) and cannot have anyway to easily attach a stock. If you someday DO add a stock (by changing the rear trunnion) it becomes a rifle (for all eternity) and cannot be turned back into a pistol. How they would know I have no idea but something to keep in mind. Obviously, with the 11.5" barrel he'd have to go the SBR route if he ever did want to stock it. Most of the pistol builds I've seen used AMD rear trunnions with plates welded onto them for a flush fit. You can then drill and tap the plate for a sling swivel. The hardest part is cutting the barrel for a true pistol build and getting the gas system to work well.

It may not be the hardest thing in the world to do (beyond my skills certainly) but Nevada's has got to be one of the cleanest I've seen!!! Well done!!

Take Care,
Mike

The current issue of Shotgun News has an article on building your own AK. The author builds both a rifle (AK 74) and a pistol (AK 47). He says in the article that you MUST designate the receiver as either a rifle receiver or a pistol receiver when you purchase it (so on the 4473, I guess) and it can thereafter never be changed.

That SGNews also has an add for a 9mm "pistol" that includes a stock and a long barrel to easily convert it to a rifle.

I think it is legal to make a pistol in to a rifle with that setup, but don't even think about putting on that stock with the short barrel. Wilkinson Linda had a similar type deal I think available.

Shotgun News I doubt would allow that ad if illegal.
