Has anyone heard anything about or tried the Buffertech recoil buffer assembly for the P226? Thanks

Sean

Um ... no. But I do have another question, though: is there really a need for a recoil buffer for the 226? I have both the 9mm and the .40, and I believe these are about two of the easiest-recoiling, most reliable semi-autos in existence ... I just don't know that anything could be done to enhance the operation of these pistols.

I generally stay away from them especially in pistols, if it ain't broke don't fix it I'd say especially in a SIG Sauer.

Kokalis from SOF and now Small Arms Review seems to think highly of them in certain guns and I generally greatly respect his opinions though.

The only reason why i am asking is because I plan on shooting bulk nato ammo and I am I little concerned about the wear on the frame. I only plan on using it on the range, I never intend on having it installed for home defense.

Than in that case I'd say go for it but better yet use an all steel beater gun if you have one or a gun known for extreme toughness like a Ruger although a Sig Sauer is not too shabby in the toughness dept I would think.

I'd just check the gun often for signs of trouble. I commonly have beater or extra guns in calibers I shoot a lot, even 22lr, to avoid stressing any one gun. At least thats what I tell myself to justify buying more guns in calibers I already have!

My SIGs (and even my Beretta 92s) have stood up well to shooting the hotter NATO 9mm. In fact, I've never considered worrying about slide or frame wear with my SIGs, and let's just say, I use unholy amounts of hot loads ... If there's someone out there who's experienced severe wear or breakage on a 9mm SIG frame or slide caused by factory-produced ammo, even NATO ball, +P or even occasional +P+, I'd like to hear the story.
