Hello all,
I'm already making plans for the summer, and I was thinking about going camping up in Sequoia/Kings Canyon (up in Northern CA) for a week. What is the legality of taking a rifle up with me for use as a defensive arm?
Thanks for any input you can give me,
Nic

National forest firearms rules are controlled by county and state laws and regulations. Feds have been know to create "no shooting zones" where user conflicts are a problem. Usually around high concentrations of camp sites.

National forest is OK. In national PARKS it is mistakenly considered illegal to exercise your inalienable rights.

In AZ the National Forest has posted signs in areas near Phoenix.
(Tried to post pic, but didn't work. )
The signs read:
Congested Area
Target Shooting Prohibited
Then all the legal
stuff
I suspect the NFS will have similar signs in CA.

They didn't prohibit carrying firearms, just shooting them.
