A friend bought his Glock .40 last weekend and we went to the range today, me with my XD40 SC. After we put a few magazines thru each, we switched off to see how the other gun felt to us. I was surprised at the Glock. Not in a good way. Yeh, he fired off 175 round thru it without any problems right out of the box. Pretty good. Mine hung up again on the 5th round of the first magazine. I think that Xtended mag it came with is causing the problems. But when I shot his Glock, the recoil off it was MUCH higher than mine and his is the full size. After the 13 round mag was done, my right thumb was killing me where it kept kicking back into my hand. No matter how tight a grip I had it kept killing my thumb. He was much impressed with my XD40 SC that it had a much lighter recoil. We were both shooting the same rounds, Remington 180gr out of the same 250 round box. I wasn't very impressed with it.

Has no one else noticed this difference?

The only XD I've shot was ported (thus, it had almost a negative recoil), and I didn't shoot it back to back with my G19. I will say that the few rounds I did fire through the XD make it one for my "to buy" list. I really love the grip angle.
