log on anymore. I get a message that my IP has been banned. I don't why? I have not said anything inflammatory or inappropriate. In fact, I don't ever post there. I just look around. I have emailed the webmaster three times and get no response. If anybody has connections, please let me know. I kinda think they suck now! :cuss:

GT used to be a good forum. But now with something like 40,000 members you get alot of trolls and 12 yo wannabe's posting. Used to be able to have a nice friendly argument but now everybody just wants to sling insults. Alot of the older members nolonger post in the general (General Non-Glocking) section.

I think it's still a good forum, but it would be a lot better if some of the folks who know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING would forget the fact that they know everything about everything and maybe be open to the possibility that there's still something they can learn. Too much ego over there...and lots of trolls lately too. "Carry Issues" is about the only part of the forum that I even look at anymore (or the .40 S&W forum).

I think its a good forum, but its a little like arf.com, you need to stay out of the 'general' areas and stick to the specific forums, which there are a lot of thankfully.

Of course, it's a little annoying to check 3 different forums and see 3 identical posts that someone copy/pasted, but that's just a peeve of mine

I've tried to register there three times and have always received the same message. It seems my ip address has also been banned even though I've never posted there.

I've inquired as to the reason but have never received a reply.

Who needs 'em!

I think it took me about 35 years until I learned I didn't know everything... my wife might say I have farther to go. :D

If you think the general non-glocking forum was bad, stay the hell away from the Politics forum. Actually they have been cleaning out a lot of the commie trash that has been building up over there and needed to get dumped. :p . Noticed "compost" is posting a lot more frequently here now, since he got axed. Probably some people are getting axed because their addresses are similar to the bad ones.

I generally only post in the gun related forums at Glocktalk. Some of the most obnoxious replies I've seen anywhere have been in the religious forum. I don't visit the religious forum anymore. Gotten so bad Eric has threatened to lock the forum if they don't get their act together.

Perhaps if you hadn't equated Glocks to rocks.... (a sentiment with which I heartily agree  :neener: )

Glocktalk can be nice, but I wish their mods were a little quicker.

The other day, someone logged on and started posting gay porn, some really nasty stuff. He was hitting every thread possible, and I PMed the mods, and after 20 minutes that guy was still posting.

The mods here have gotten rid of Gunkid a hell of a lot faster than that, and he never posted anything nearly as bad as that.

All that said, I think Eric does a fine job with his forum, and he puts up with a log over there.

That porn crap was the worst I've ever seen. Can't understand sickos like that. As to Glocktalk's 40,000 members: They probably have had 40,000 registrations, but there are only a few hundred active members at any given time.

Glocktalk is like Democratic Underground for me. I go there to get a good dose of why I like forums like this one so much better.

I mean geez, all that flaming and no style. Here at least when people argue .45ACP versus 9mm or .308 versus 5.56, they stay pretty civil and give decent reasons for their dislikes.

Yeah, and when us High Roaders sling insults, flame, defame and just plain demoralize one another, at least we do it with class. :p

What bothered me about that BB was the open Hostility to anyone "new". Semed led by that Pied Piper Bigot they finally got rid of. Now it's better but sure have to wads thru a lot of crap to find good discussion or info?
Seems the avg. poster has never owned any pistol except a Glock and probably because it's as simple as it gets, don't have to know how to take care of it or really know how to clean it. Then all the minutia about this plastic part # working with this magazine or being better and endless .25 cent trigger jobs ruminated about. THey also suffer from mfg. sponsers endlessly and shamlessly spamming about their kydex and parts/services being the best and of course all the uninformed blindly accept the rethoric as gospel.

With as many Glocks that are floating around in the USA that their is only ONE Glock BB! If I want to know anything factual it's off to Brian Enos Forum's......

I too like BE's forum, I wish there were more new postings a day though. Due to sheer volumn I've learned a lot more from GT regarding reloading tips & tricks, load recipes, and setting guns up for compitition. Especially those ugly Glocks.

Since the original question was asked and answered, I'm closing this as off topic. THR doesn't do forum wars -- we don't like it when other people talk smack about us, so we don't talk smack about others.
