Are there any history buffs willing to work on developing a Battle of Tours thread? I figure with a few hundred posts we could explain how Islamic expansionism and genocidal mentality led up to this pivotal battle in the late eighth century.

And with an introduction (and a sigline) like that, I am sure we can expect an unbiased and factual treatise, right?

Give me a frickin' break. I am all for civilized discussion, but what kind of discourse do you expect? It's like titling a thread, "The history of the Jews, and how their greed contributed to their near-extermination".

And, at the same time, we can run a thread on Christian expansionism in Meso-America...

...The Albiginsian Crusades and genocidal mentality...

...Infamous Papal Bulls and their support of expansionism, genocidal mentality and pure-dee greed...

*sigh* "Round-and-round she goes; where she stops, nobody knows..."

Enough.

The religious threads are now done.

You wish to debate history? I understand that the History Channel website has a Forum. I'm sure they will be more than happy to discuss, chew and meditate on the Battle of Tours.
