Hello everybody. I'm still debating on future handgun purchases but I wanted to know if your pinkey finger hangs off the end of the subcompact?

I dislike most subcompacts for lack of a full grip, is this so with the XD SubCompact?

Thanks!

My pinky does not fit on the grip normally on the SC, but if you add this: http://pistol-gear.com/proddetail.php?prod=40PA&cat=8
you should be fine.

Thanks for that link. Those aren't badly priced at $10.00 at all.

How easy is installation and how sturdy are they?

If you were going to extend the length of the grip anyway, I would just buy several of the springfield extended magazines and use them exclusively. I have a XD-9 subcompact and it came with a flush fitting 10 round mag and an extended 15 round magazine. The end of the magazine extends about a inch from the bottom of the frame. The part of the magazine that sticks out has a grip extension around it so there is no gap between the frame and mag. Its hard to explain, but basically when you have the mag in the gun it looks like a sub-compact XD with a full size grip. I looked for pictures to no avail. Maybe someone on the board has some pics they could post for you. I like the option of mag lengths beause I can easily gain or lose an inch of grip depending on the situtation. If I'm going for maximum concealment I'll use the 10 rounder in the gun, with the 15 riding along as the spare. But normally it's the other way around. Even with the extended mag the gun conceals well.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

P.S. Just checked out the link posted above more thoroughly. They also sell the extended mags with the "sleeve". http://pistol-gear.com/proddetail.php?prod=35PA&cat=8

Heres a picture of my XD40. My opinion is you might as well get a service if your going to conceal it because the grip is the same length as it. If anyone has carried a day in their life they know that its the grip that is the hard part to conceal, not the slide.

I have really small hands, and my pinkey still doesnt fit on the grip right.

If you live in California, and have to have 10 round magazines, then the Pearce Grip Extension's are the only way to go. I have 3 on order myself.
