Range gun? Home defence? CCW? Field carry?

I'de get the 4" for anything but CCW.

What's the point of a .44M snub anyway? Can't be any fun to shoot.

Pretty bulky for CCW, but a good stopper with .44 Specials. I'd never keep the .44 Mags for defense, good lord... :uhoh:

The Taurus trackers are the size of a Smith K frame. 2 Inch excellent ccw revolver, 4 inch compact trail gun, all with 5 rounds of 44 magnum. I'm not sure where you will find a more compact .44 magnum snubbie since no one else makes one. I just bought the 4" tracker in .45 acp. I put 150 rounds throught it yesterday and it shoots great. The double action trigger pull is very smooth and lighter by a couple of pounds than my smith & wesson N-frames out of the box.

I repeat a Kframe sized gun in stainless steel, thats a whole pound lighter than a smith N-frame, and shoots .44 magnum whats not to like?????

If smith made a K-frame sized 5 shot .45 acp I would have bought that instead but they dont.

PS they are about $230 less expensive than an N-frame smith.

I have three 4" Trackers (45 ACP, 357 Mag, 44 Mag) and they are all great. I had not heard about the 44 Mag 2", but I will have to have one. The 4" is not bad with Keith-style 44 Specials, and I keep Silvertips in it as the regular load for out camping. I have been wondering why Taurus was not making a 2", and now they are. Thanks for the heads-up.

Good shootin'....

Might this be a companion piece to their 68 oz. 2 1/4" barrelled stainless .500 Magnum? :what: :what:

I really NEED to fire off one of those someday.

I have an interest in their 500s also. Only thing stopping me is the expense of the ammo is such that I'll have to reload and I'm going to want some loaded down (.500 special as it's now called) ammo for the range. I don't think I'll spring for a 2 inch, although the fireball from full power stuff should be spectacular. I love the look of the 4 inch S&W variant, though.

Thats a nice N-frame, they are going for what $800 used if you can find one, a local shop has one in stainless with a 3 inch barrel, I think its called the Trail boss model, its not a lew horton, its been sitting in the case for $769 NIB for some time.

Yes the taurus is K-frame size its even smaller and can be had for $400 retail or even less.

You want power in a small package, you've got to give up those girlie guns...this one is a .480 Ruger, 2 1/4 inch barrel. They also make it in a .454 Casull.

I have the Taurus Tracker in a 4 inch .44 mag. I put the frame size a little closer to the L frame Smith rather than the K , but it is certainly no larger than an L frame.

It is a comfortable shooting gun with .44 Spl's and I realy consider this to be a .44 Spl. that you can occasionaly shoot .44 mags. out of . (the .44 mag loads are managable , but recoil is significant)

Action on my Stainless model is surprisingly smooth and so far I am impressed.
