Leupold 8.5-25x50mm, M1, Illuminated vs. Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56

Anyone have experience with both of these scopes? $1196 (Leupold) vs. $1335 (Nightforce)
Need for long range shooting (>200 yds). I have very bad eyes and need the extra magnification. I am aware of the problems with mirage, but both are variable so lower mag is always available.

Leupold has mildot, also available on Nightforce, but what about the NP-R2?
This is for a Winchester Stealth II in .308

Not an illumintated scope, but I have a Leupold 6.5x20x50 with a mildot reticle on my .50, and I like it. The NPR2 reticle is really good though. I've used the Nightforce NXS with the NPR2 on occasion. They are both great scopes. Both clear and bright. They can really take abuse too. You really can't go wrong with either. Are you familar with the use of the mildot reticle for ranging?

The advantage that people see with the Nightforce exclusive NPR2 reticle vs. the mildot is that you don't have to convert from mils to minute of angle. The NPR2 uses 2MOA(2 inches per 100 yards) line increments so that you don't have to convert when ranging.
