Sven just showed up with a couple of Tucker holsters. I tried them on, pretty nice leather. Much more comfortable than the Rhino 1911 holster I am using. Nice looking gear, too...so I got a bunch of photos (http://www.olegvolk.net/newphotos/tn2/tucker/?M=D). Quality seems to be every bit as good as what Alessi makes.

For me, form always has to follow function... I wasn't let down in either regard with this leatherwork.

The 1911 doesn't bump into my butt or my ribs when I run around... the angled double mag pouches work exactly as designed... as I reach back, the mag is angled to fit into my hand... a nice design!

i just ordered a Tucker HF 1 w/ a thumb break and an angled double mag pouch for my new kimber. have not received it yet, but i can say that their customer service is awesome - very informative and fast with the emails and phone calls, but did not pressure me at all. Rob at Tucker Leather said i should take about a week.

guys over at 1911forum speak very highly of these holsters.

Oleg, I have always loved your photography... Your posters are a kick in the a&& and thought provoking.

I finally got a chance to handle some Tucker gunleather last week when I went by to pick up something from Jardine at Valtro and OH MANNNnnnnn do I wana win that contest now!

Their goodies are superb examples of craftsmanship and are quite pleasing to the eyes and hands. The appear to be quite rugged as well.

In any case Oleg fantastic stuff here. If it is not already there I am gonna link your site to the 5 firearm related sites I get the pleasure to oversee. Good work..

Oh and good choice of handgun! *wink*

Charles, Holy Guacamole! Think that picture is big enough? I felt like I was seated at the first row at the movie theatre.

Hey dghboy315, your new Tucker holster and mag pouch are ready to ship tomorrow! If you want we can hang on to them for a few more days just to raise your anticipation level. Or, do you want me to go ahead and send them your way?

He! He! He! :D I'm truly evil, aren't I?

Big????

Not big enough actually!

No bull here but to see the beauty of the holster its my personal opinion that you really DO need to see it in person -- but failing that a little picture just does not do the stitching, carving, and stamping on the leather justice. :-)

Hey what can I say.. I am VERBOSE too...

Motto:
Never do something small when something BIG will fit in the alotted space!

Well okay something like that anyhow :-)

By the way you specifically mentioned Oleg's lighting in one of your posts - I could not agree more. When I first saw these shots last night I mentioned exactly that to my wife. Lighting is the toughest part of photography and Oleg's got it down to a science.

Wish I'd done as well on my M1 garand photos. Sadly my old digital camera and the diningroom lighting just did not make it! Hahaha :-) Anyway Oleg's work brings out the warmth of the leather and I just think it all comes together well.

Pretty nice angle on the Garand.

On lighting, the rule by which I go is "soft light to reveal shapes, hard light to reveal textures"...when both are needed on a convex object (like a gun, which reflects specular highlights into the lens), that's when it gets veeeery tricky.
