Well...it has been much less than the full 120 days that I was promised I had to wait to recieve my card...(Nevada)...so that is good.

Was still a long wait however....But i just got it today when I got home, so I havent yet carried, and probably wont for a while....I am in Dental School at UNLV, and I am pretty sure I cant carry legally there anyhow.

Aside from that, It is getting warmer and warmer out, and wearing a jacket to conceal my Steyr isnt high on my list.

HOWEVER, I did order an Autauga 32 from CDNN today...So I will have that pretty soon, and I dont think I will have concealment problems with that....even if I am only wearing swimming trunks.

Anyway, just thought Id spread the news. Thanks for listening.

Congrads. ^_^

Having a Permit means you have to be 100-times more responsible than the average civvie. (As if you didn't know that)

Be sure to set an example.........

Once again..........congrads.

Thank you very much Rally...I am not really the type of person who "attracts" problems....I dont get into fights, etc....

I do realize the implications of having the permit....and plan to raise my personal bar of responsibility accordingly.

My main considerations when applying for my permit were these:

1. Get one before you are no longer allowed to. I figure that if they decide to stop issuing CCW's I may be "grandfathered" in due to the fact that I had a permit beforehand.

2. Being in the dental field (soon) I figure that I may need to make late night trips to the bank, with possibly large sums of money....the perfect time to get rolled by some predator.

3. Getting married soon, I would like to be able to protect my loved ones, my future family.

4. I was hoping that the CCW class I was required to take would provide me with useful information that would make me a more responsible gun owner. (i believe that it did.)

SO, while I may not make much use of the permit in the near future, I am glad that I have it anyhow...

congratulations. Now you are going to have to hang out at guns shops deciding what your next purchase is going to be. I don't know the laws in Nevada, but in Michigan with my ccw I can walk into a gun shop and walk out 15 minutes later with a new gun! Non ccws have to go through a get a permit from your local pd process.

Same in NV....I am actually glad that it came when it did, so when my Autauga comes in to the shop, I dont have to pay an extra 15 bucks for background check. The card came right in time.

You are right though, I think that with the card I might end up making more impromptu purchases.

Congratulations!

The more of us who carry, the safer we all are.

and the more " imbeded" the ccw concept becomes. It's good when a lot of people get on board and develop polical clout.

That ccw will be nice when you carry all that dental money to the bank. Gee! What a problem!

Congrats!

I remember running back from the mailbox like a kid who just got a new toy when I got mine.

Congratulations. Now, if you're like me, when you start carrying and for some reason don't or can't, (like when going to school) you'll feel naked. Going to work sucks for me.

I remember they told me it would be some ridiculously long period before I would get it too. 60 days I think.

I dropped my paperwork off at the main BCI building instead of mailing it in and 4 days later I had my CCW card in the mail! I was surprised at how fast it came.
