I got my new issue of "Guns and Ammo" yesterday and featured on the front cover was the "new" Para-Ordnance Hawg 9. Glowing review, yada, yada, yada..........
Later in the issue, it is listed as a nominee for "Gun of the year"
The gun is a double stack 12 + 1 9MM.
My question is:
Isn't this just a re-released version of the old P-12?
Yes I know it has the new Para-Ordnance Power Extractor, and is bushing less, but come on, itís basically a P-12. Surely not worthy of a "Gun of the Year" nomination.

Actually it looks more like a "modernized" P10 (in 9mm) to my eye...

But I agree: "gun of the year" ????? ... must have been a pretty slow year!

Perhaps Para pays well.

I can't remember the last time I read about a gun getting a bad review in Guns&Ammo or any of their affiliates.. oh,wait.. thats because it never happens.

I just buy Guns&Ammo for the pictures

A hi-cap 9mm pistol getting gun of the year? Wheres the innovation and variety? Why not give gun of the year to something like the Winchester Model 1895s in .405 Win.? Or something similarly significant... the Colt's 1911 repros even!
