Local gun store has a like new 64 with 3" heavy barrel that would be a great companion to my 3" heavy barrel 65. The sticker is $369 which seems a bit high to me for a used .38, regardless of condition.

Is that a fair price or am I correct in thinking it's a bit high?

Seems a tad high for me. I've seen them for $300 range at shows here in michigan.

I'd say it's high. I wouldn't do it.

Around here I can get a used 4" model 64 for $250. A three incher might get a slight premium over that. A new 3" M64 goes for approx. $425-450.

Sounds high to me too. IIRC, NIB ones were recently found in the mid 300s at Davidsons. These were the "older" models without the 2 piece barrel.

I paid $230 + tax for a 64-3 3" last week. :)

I'd say if it's in good condition, buy it. A used 640 I'm looking at is $389 which is high but typical for my state. It varies depending on where you live and some of us, especially in the north, just never seem to cut much of a break price wise.
