I bought one of those 9.99 AR mags from CDNN and it's a total POS. I'm assuming that there's no resale value on it (at least if I'm honest about it), so would this make a good .22LR target for around 15 yards? I don't wanna punch through it, just shoot it around on the ground or let it dangle.

CDNN has a few $9.99 AR mags - is this the steel 20rd unit or the aluminum 5-9rd unit? You might be able to salvage the spring/follower out of it.....

I can't answer your question - I tend not to shoot at anything that's not paper or flesh. Not for any particular reason - those are just generally the rules where I shoot.

.22LR will probably punch through it. I shoot the green "spam cans" that surplus ammo comes in all the time and 22LR zings right through them. Those cheaper AR mags can't be much thicker.

The mags were too wide at the lips and I couldn't bend them. I was getting a lot of Double feeds as a result. I've already bought replacements for them, so these mags are just paper weights.
