Have you shot it yet?

I have the 340 which is the DAO version, got the same CTC grips too. Nobody has ever asked me to shoot it more than once.

You may need to give her a bit o' spit n' polish- she's lookin' a lil' blurry.

Hardly anybody actually fires .357's out of those, the recoil is just too punishing. Seems like you could have just gotten a .38 in a similar weight for less money, and avoided the hard-to-clean buildup in the cylinder you'll get from shooting .38's in a .357. :uhoh:

God bless you man! I have a 342 .38 and with +P's it is a handful. I shoot a 649 Bodyguard in .357, with full combat grips it is comfortable, but with boot grips it is tough. I cannot imagine shooting .357's out of such a light gun on a regular basis. I guess in a life or death situation it would not matter, but practicing is a bitch! The proverbial tiger by the tail!!

I shot my 340PD with ALL the available premium .357 Magnum 125gr+P JHP loads when I first bought it, and it twarn't fun.

Fortunately, it was actually more accurate with certain .38 Special loads (Federal Nyclad 158gr+P and Gold Dot 135gr+P JHP), so that's what I now carry in it.

I carry 125gr 357mag Rem Golden Sabres in my 340. It's the most controllable magnum loading I have found.

If you ever need to use the gun, you're not going to care about blast and flash, recoil, or anything else. You're going to care whether you stop the criminal right this instant.

The all steel j-frames aren't a problem to shoot with .357 loads. Even while recovering I don't find it uncomfortable at all.

The airweight models, however, are a whole other ballgame.
