You don't need the red arrow, IMHO. If people are too dumb to understand the connection without it, they won't get it with it either.

I understand the sentiment and see where the thought is going but IMO this is a bad poster and will only reinforce a bad notion that many antis already have.
The 2nd Amendment isn't about HUNTING!
Though the 2nd isn't mentioned or even hinted at it is exactly what will come to mind first when viewed by an anti.

I like...didn't know many Nazis could read, but that's OK. :)
October 10, 2005, 10:30 AM
One tiny quibble with the Nazi poster, Oleg. Noone was the lead singer of "Herman's Hermits". I think you mean "no one".
Both messages are, hopefully, real eye-openers.

Noone was the lead singer of "Herman's Hermits".
Wow. Good obscure cultural reference. I wonder if he ever got his teeth fixed.
The poor guy's teeth made him look like he had a mouthful of candy corn.

Or go very dry:
"The U.N. says...." This is so damning ! Love it!
+1 on losing the red line
Oleg I hope you are indicative of the Russian people;
and many more are on their way!

I haveto agree, the 2nd one is great. The first one is good, but I fear that it will reinforce the idea that the 2nd is only for hunting.
October 10, 2005, 12:31 PM
It is one of many posters. It should reinforce the idea that deer hunting with military weapons (K98 or AKM) is more benign that the regular army uses.

Both hard hitting and well done.
October 10, 2005, 02:32 PM
awesome, i am adding these to my collection.
your posters are spreading through tribe.net rapidly by lots of different people trying to fight prop H

http://www.a-human-right.com is back up, thanks to the efforts of Derek Zeanah. olegvolk.net is still down, and with it the newest posters. It should be up later this week.
October 10, 2005, 03:10 PM
We're working on it. If we're good, it'll be a couple of hours, but I don't want to make the switch until nightfall to minimize down-time...
Actually, I just had an idea. I'll update once we're there....
October 10, 2005, 03:15 PM
Great posters, Oleg.
One small nitpick: It should be "No one", not "noone".
"Noone" is not a word except as a place name or person's name.
October 10, 2005, 03:17 PM
Oleg, May I print that poster out and put it in my gun room? I had relatives over yesterday and some of them were absolutely appalled when they saw the racks of old military mausers in my gunroom.
October 10, 2005, 04:08 PM
I'll update "no one" when I upload the hi-res version later this week.
Yes, feel free to print it. Wait till I put up the large file.
October 10, 2005, 08:15 PM
Why is there an arrow in the second image? Are you afraid viewers are too dumb to get the point?
October 10, 2005, 08:25 PM
dasmi, yes, the red tips are tracers and i noticed, placed accurately at every tenth round.
nice work Oleg!
October 11, 2005, 01:29 PM
When an MG42 is tossing lead at ~1200rpm, you dont need a tracer every 5th round.

May I pass the first poster around with credit to Oleg Volk?

Government's only use for this rifle was killing humans.
Civilians use it for hunting, self-defense and recreation.
Why does the U.N. think governments are the only "legitimate small arms users"?
To go with the soldier pic, there should be a rec/hunting pic.
In the second poster:
Much easier to accomplish when the "undesirables" can't shoot back.
October 11, 2005, 08:39 PM
Agreed with the "Undersirables"
Oleg, this is the best post yet!
I really like the message it puts out, and while it reinforces the hunting idea, thats not a bad thing neccesarily. (people shy away from the self defence idea, but the hunting message reaches alot more people)
