How BIG is your ammo dump?

I pretty much buy and shoot surplus ammo so I "stock up" when the price is right.

Last week I would have been able to move up a notch but I burnt up a 1000 rounds during the nice few days we have had.

Just got back from a show an hour ago.

Wife - "What's in the box?"

Me - "Oh, just some ammo."

Wife - "How many are in that box?"

Me - "Should be 500."

Wife - "Are you going to count them?"

Me - "No sweetheart, I trust them."

Wife - "Okay, if you're sure."

How much CENTERFIRE RIFLE ammo do you have right now?
Not enough. ;)

I got all excited thinking that I would be in the highest catagory - then I read the "centerfire" part. Oh well, I still have more than enough that if I'm ever on the news it will be called an arsenal (more than 2 rounds :rolleyes: )

I try to keep an ammo can full of each one for the guns that I have.

I like to stock up surplus when it's available and on sale. I've got 4k in just Portugese .308, now folks seem to have a hard time getting any. :uhoh: :neener:

Now, you wanna talk about pistol and shotgun ammo?:evil:

just finished reloading 1k worth of .45acp , in all enough stock enough to supply a third world country , but actually I only keep enough loaded to satisfy a good weekend shoot (apx 2k ) but enough materials to reload everything apx 12-13 k , (how you think I been keeping myself busy and happy while being unemployed??) I only buy factory when I am lazy :scrutiny:

I keep 1,000 rounds of 223 at another SHTF location ;) and a few boxes of most of my calibers down there as well.

At my house, I don't exactly know (always a bad sign). I have about 800 rounds of handloaded 25-06 and 500 or 600 of handloaded 243. Probably 200 or 300 223, 200 or 300 of 308, 900+ of 303, 880+ of 7.62x54R, 120 of 7mm Rem Mag, and probably 300 of 'other'.

Handgun ammo? Well, in addition to a whole bunch I had, ammoman has those great prices on the Gold Dot practice ammo so I have a few thousand more rounds than I usually have. :p

None of your business!

wish people would quit asking this question.

Or maybe you should do a search before you post the question.

762x39 = 4250
5.56 = 11000
545x39 = 1800
762x51 (belted, match and loose ball) = 4550
9mm = 2500
.45 = 2200
.22 = 2000 +/-
.50 = 180
762x54R = 1680
12ga = 250+/-

Now if I had the time and money to load all the brass I have in the garage it would be somewhere around 100,00 rounds. I get once fired brass from several sources by the 5 gallon bucket. This week I am going to CA to get 12 or 13 buckets (and some other goodies:D ). I am begining to wonder if it really is much cheaper to reload your own rounds, cause I sure am spending a lot of money doing it! Either way, it is fun!

Where's the option for "not nearly enough"? :)
